Harrisburg – PHC4 has released a new County-Level Utilization Report, produced to supply essential data to support evidence-based decision-making and analysis. PHC4 produces a comprehensive set of County-Level Utilization Reports, quarterly, using the most recent available data.
This report, which covers data from Quarter 1 of 2023 (January through March), shows the overall total number of inpatient hospitalizations and ambulatory/outpatient cases for Pennsylvania residents. These county-specific results are displayed by patient age, sex, and payer. Barry Buckingham, PHC4’s Executive Director, said, “PHC4 produces these timely reports to guarantee Pennsylvania stakeholders have access to the freshest key statistics.”
PHC4 invites all citizens of the Commonwealth to review these reports, which are available for free at phc4.org. By providing these results, PHC4 aims to empower communities, healthcare providers, and policymakers with the most up-to-date information they need to make informed decisions and prioritize healthcare resources effectively.
PHC4 is an independent state agency formed under Pennsylvania statute (Act 89 of 1986, as amended by Act 15 of 2020) in order to address rapidly growing health care costs. The Council continues to produce comparative information about the most efficient and effective health care to individual consumers and group purchasers of health services. In addition, PHC4 produces information used to identify opportunities to contain costs and improve the quality of care delivered.
