Professor Lindsay Sabik, PhD, at the University of Pittsburgh School of Public Health, utilized Pennsylvania Health Care Cost Containment Council (PHC4) inpatient discharge and ambulatory/outpatient procedure data linked to records from the Pennsylvania Department of Health’s Pennsylvania Cancer Registry for a research study entitled, “Impacts of Recent Payment, Coverage, and Systems Changes on Access to and Quality of Cancer Care.”
An Interrupted Time Series Analysis of the Cardiovascular Health Benefits of a Coal Coking Operation Closure
Dr. Wuyue Yu, postdoctoral fellow at the New York University Grossman School of Medicine, and Professor George D. Thurston, ScD of Medicine and Population Health at the same university, conducted a study entitled, An interrupted time series analysis of the cardiovascular health benefits of a coal coking operation closure. In this work, they applied inpatient discharge data from the Pennsylvania Health Care Cost Containment Council (PHC4) and emergency department data from the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
Social Ecological Contexts of Opioid Overdose and Hospitalizations in Pennsylvania
Dr. Jessica Frankeberger, postdoctoral fellow, Department of Pediatrics and Center for Better Beginnings at the University of California San Diego and Dr. Christina Mair, associate professor from the University of Pittsburgh, studied the Social Ecological Contexts of Opioid Overdose and Hospitalizations in Pennsylvania using Pennsylvania Health Care Cost Containment (PHC4) data combined with community data from other sources.
